The dogs owner got “cited”. What a joke. He should be wrapped in bacon and placed in a small cage with the dog. Thankfully the 19 year old saw it and stepped up, good for him.

"He was always a great pet, never a hint at violence, yada yada yada". Sue em into submission, when it becomes too expensive to risk ownership then the attacks will stop.

I’m not for telling someone what they can own but I’m damn sure for making it hard enough on the owner that they’re committed to keeping them put up. They should be bonded as a requirement for ownership. When the dog eats the owner all the better. Maybe the insurance will pay for their funeral.

Good work by the neighbor. Not sure I would try to run from that dog. I know damn well I cant out run him and I guess id rather get after it on my own terms than while im trying to get up after he tripped me.

I'm still in the camp of the dog is what the owners turn it into. Pit's are just much more prone to injure people if not trained properly because that's what they were bred for decades to do. IMO insurance companies are going to be the ones to fix this problem, if it ever gets fixed. A dog owners homeowners insurance company gets stuck covering the bills related to dog bites. If they put an exclusion stating they won't insure a home owner with a pit, a lot of people would just pick another bred of dog. And people that own rental property would be forced to put "No Pit" clauses in their rental contracts. If pit owners can't find a place to live with this breed, ownership will decline. Just my .02 cents.

Thank God for the bravery of that young gentleman. We need many more like him.
I am very conflicted on this breed. I will not blame the breed. We created this breed with the attributes it has genetically. We then blame the breed when it reacts based on its genetics. Humans created this issue. That being said, it is an animal, I would rather every single pit be exterminated than one person, especially a child, have to go through that.

Good publicity of the size of the lawsuits against pit owners is the best way to combat these events, at least for those who own property.
Like so many things, these people want to prove the world wrong about pits. Well, let them wager everything they own.

It's.not the breed, it's how they are raised. They are good dogs. How many times have we heard this crap?

que the dog licking baby pics. People want to blame the owners and how the raised the dog, that is not the case in most of these stories. It is usually a family pet that everyone has grown to trust. I know a girl that had her legs scarred for life when her neighbor's pit (that was raised from a pup as a family pet) decide to rip her legs open. She told stories of letting the dog lick her face and how sweet it was. She said she was lucky she was only petting the dog when it attacked. And like this girl, it never made the news. And God knows how many stories never make it to the public's eyes because there was no cameras or media that covered the attack.

Yeah, don't listen to me. I'm just an idiot.
Lol. Duckbill that was funny! The dude up top has already taken lots of bone before this deer, both mule and whitetail.
