This has to be the single best year for sunflowers I've ever seen. They are everywhere! I have huge patches in all the best hunting areas. I didn't plant one seed. Last year and previous years they were rather sparse. This year they've exploded. There just seems to be no rime or reason for how many there are. Not that I'm complaining, it should be a great dove season!

Anyone else seeing an increase!

Distance is not an issue, but the wind can make it interesting!

Problem is that every other field in the state is the same way. Hard to concentrate birds when there is food and water everywhere.

Not sure I buy in to all that. Flooding is not good, but right amount of rain for fulls ponds and heathy sunflowers in texas I say is good.

Sunflowers so good out here a lot of farmers are selling their fields to Turner Seed. They're combining a lot of fields now...but not mine.

Checked out my field today in YoCo and the sunflower is as thick as it's been in the last 5 years.
