If you are ever on the west side of Houston and want to try some Argentinian cuisine stop by Marini's Empanada House on Westheimer just a bit east of the Sam Houston Tollway. They have a Katy location as well. Essentially an empanada is a fried or baked hand pie that can be stuffed with meats, vegetables, cheeses or desert options. Marini's has over 40 combinations on their menu. The website says 3522 S. Mason. I have only eaten at the location on Westheimer in the Carillion Shopping Center.
