These are the three I would mention. I'm 49 and if I don't tire myself out in the evenings I don't sleep well. Even if I can fall asleep, it's fitful. I avoid caffeine after 1pm. I also watch what time of day I eat carbohydrates and try not to eat anything within 3 hours of going to bed. Lastly, turn off the devices an hour before bed and let your mind settle.

Carbohydrates help you sleep, protein interferes, it's preferentially absorbed over DHA across the blood brain barrier. DHA is the precursor to melatonin.

If I eat carbs late my body gets energized, and I also sleep a lot hotter at that point.

Work out in the evening, and get some "big chief time" with the lady. Also read a book in bed, works all the time.

If everything is same as before then you need to listen to your body. It is telling you something. The human body is an amazing creation of God. Crazy the abuse it can take from us.

Sleep is how it recovers and repairs itself as well as recharge.

I would recommend getting checked out by your regular physician.

I would not recommend listening to the self diagnosing here. The body needs 6-8 hours for its benefit. It will adjust if you make it, but again, we abuse our bodies a lot.

Something has changed, you just may not know it yet.

Too bad your so far away,

My Wife has just decided to change her mattress as she has had major back work done, the mattress was the best made memory foam, less then two years ago, absolutely no stains, rubs, tears or wear spots, its like new, and it cost her better then $16,000.

16 years old.... My best advice to you is #1, no caffeine of any kind after 3 pm. And #2 early evening put the phone away, close the laptop, and turn the desktop computer off. Thus during early evening wind down time no online gaming, no texting with friends, no online news, no surfing. Let your mind escape the drama and settle. It effects you more than you know. I am no stranger to lack of sleep. As a teenager I was a street racer, married a hot goth chick, then chose a career that had me waking up from sleep to going 100 percent mentally and physically several times a night. I'm hopeless, but those two things I suggest changing are the two things that caused the same sleep problem for my sons when they were your age.

I vote for a new mattress, dark room, no TV or other noise. Have you gained weight? if so get a more plush mattress; fatties need a plush top not a firm. I learned this the firm way lol.
