Got to see Merle, Willie, Kristofferson, and Jaimie Johnson all on the same stage about a year before Merle passed away. The guy still had it!!! Thanks to a TFF'er we had 2ed or 3rd row almost center stage. It was incredible! For the life of me I don't know why they didn't sing Poncho And Lefty though.

IMHO he was part of one of the best music genres of American history. I'm sure everyone thinks theirs is the best but that one is not exactly mine. As I was born in 79. I'd say the best of the entire genre died a few years back. Guy Clark be dang tough to make a top 10 in order but Guy definitely sits near the top. The real question is.

Saw him front row center stage a few years before he passed. He had a hard time singing the hard parts, but he could still pick the chit out of a guitar and still put on a great show. Merle was and is still great. That one clip that Kmon 1 posted sure had a lot of talent in it. Yep, I was gonna say there's more talent on that stage than all of Nashville combined these days.

My son has control of the radio/Sirius XM when he's in the truck, and will channel surf at light speed. But when a Merle or Waylon song comes on, he knows to stop right there!
