Unfortunately I have a lot of knowledge in that area.

Yes sir I believe you are correct. Her mind is fine thank God! She was training for this well before, actually did a 11 mile run through the hills at Mineral Well SP just a few days before the trek. She got home at 11 last night. They were prepped and aware. Just wish SatComm hadn't failed! I can tell y'all that GC Search and Rescue is top notch. Thankfully her friends knew exactly what to do, got her hydrated, in shelter and praise God a thunderstorm came through and cooled it off on the hike out of the south rim. So yes, technically they finished the run, but instead of the 8 hour goal, it was 14 hours. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

So glad she's going to be ok. Heat will sneak up on ya when you least expect it. Make sure she gets plenty of rest.

Will probably be a few lingering effects for the next few days. I suffered heat exhaustion once and had a stiff neck, glazed over eyes and couldn't think clearly for a few days.

Thanks all for your well wishes and prayers - she is good and back at work! Fortunately her trek partners knew both the signs of heat exhaustion as well as hyponatremia. She said when God sent the thunderstorm it cooled her down and it sprinkled gentle rain on her the last few miles out of the canyon. She said to tell all of THF thank you!
