Down in Bosque County, Pig_Popper and I haven't seen as many hogs this year as we did last year when we had so much success. This year, we didn't see many large hogs and of those that we did see, those were targeted first, as is often is the case. Now, we seem to be down to the surviving piglets/shoats, which seem to be surviving on their own just fine. This week, I came across 4 of them, which a doe helped point out to me. They were hard to see in the high grass, but the Pulsar Thermion XM50 thermal sight performed well with these small targets...

I wish I could get deer to help me locate small pigs .
Now if you could train them to recover the pigs - I’d be super impressed

Thanks!
The deer union is okay with helping locate hogs, but is completely against the handling of swine.

Good shooting. Smaller targets..in tall grass. Hard to see....harder to hit as well.
No trouble for DNS!

A good lesson for those who might say "I thought it was a pig". Target ID, first and foremost.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf

Good shooting. Agree that target ID is critical.

Nice going! Those little guys can be tough to spot. Getting two is excellent work.
I have two unwritten rules: 1. 2.
