Forty eight. I got bored one time and marked all the counties where I quail hunted in Texas. It came to 81. I no longer have the roadmap. I once started a thread about a roadmap book called Roads of Texas. Most people would not leave home without it. I'd be willing to bet that no one uses paper roadmaps anymore. I still occasionally use the roads of Texas, NM and Colorado for small roads/trails. I enjoy looking at them (map nerd).
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

I finally tossed my Roads of Texas when I changed trucks a few months ago. It always stayed in pocket behind passenger seat. My wife asked about it while on a road trip a couple weeks ago. I’ll be looking for map of western US when we leave on trip tomorrow.

I keep maps in all of my vehicles.... Had a kid at work give me a hard time about being an old fart using maps instead of the phone apps... Couple months later we were way out in the middle of nowhere...no phone signal... Yup...he was asking me for directions....Where’s your map little buddy....

been to all 48, lived in 6 for more than 6 months ea.
driven every mile of interstate at least 3 times, countless backroads (dam scale house!).
been to all of lower canada, 3 mexican states and 14 countries.
ain't leavin Tx. again except to fish tournaments.

All 50 states and their state capitols and numerous National Parks with the wife and kids. The lower 48 traveling with a camper. It took about 7 years using all my vacation leave each year. Lifetime of memories.
