Sooooo....when are y’all heading to the Dominican Republic or was it Haiti.... Like I said, I’ve got a long list of better places I’d rather see....I’ll choose to live a little elsewhere than Mexico...

I have never seen a tornado either... Glad the news camera don't t follow me or there would be nothing to report in Dallas or Texas. Fine with me, maybe it will keep some folks away.... My friends just got back from Mexico City. They go every year and love it. And to the peninsula. Cabo is great as well. Mow if you are there and there is a hurricane, that is another story!

Like I told my wife, there are plenty of beautiful places to see right here in the United States, where your citizenship counts for something.
Never been to Mexico, never will. Read the corruption that exists today, then read a history book that tells of it during Santa Anna's reign in the 1830's. Not a hair of difference. You are absolutely right about so many beautiful places and things to see and do right here On the other hand if the circumstances were right, I would take off for Cabo in a heart beat and do some Bill Fishing

Been there at least a dozen times over the years. No desire to go back. Would do Belize again. Plan to try the fishing in Costa.

Check out "Borderland Beat" before you go. That ( link) is crazy...

A good friend of ours, knew a Mexican family traveling by car back home. They were all kidnapped. The father was sent back to the US to get $50K cash. The dad returned short with $30K+, and they slit his son's throat right in front of the whole family. The took the money and let them go. There were many stories like this I have read about. I don't plan to go to Mexico again anytime soon.

Beyond the crime and personal danger...wherever it exists....yes there are dangerous places in the US....I have a bad habit of avoiding those too...
My primary reason is they are complicit in invading our country....I will spend my money elsewhere....

I have spent a lot of time in Mexico, even lived there. I have a piece of property, 4 plex in Ciudad Victoria. Who knows who is living in it. Not worth the 300 to 400 bucks a month to go see. I’m thinking of selling it.
I have visited many cities, tourist and non tourist. It is just to unstable for any type of personal security. When cartels do a hit, they don’t care if it’s in a tourist zone or not. Mistaken identity or not.
The places mentioned are visited for natural beauty, not much real culture in these cities. So why not go somewhere else. I went last year to Playa Del Carmen, the kids hated it. Mainly related to uneasy feeling about the food and water. No cultural experience and was full of seaweed. They are spoiled to the Beachcomber in Grand Cayman. No safety concerns and less food borne illness concerns
Places I would like to see again, when or if ever stable. 1. San Miguel de Allende 2. Guanajuato. 3. Ciudad Del Carmen. 4. Tampico. 5. Xalapa.
