Have a Bausch & Lomb 6x24x40, which is a rather long scope. Thinking about mounting it on recently acquired 224 Valkyrie upper..or to much for AR setup? Thanx

Only too much if you need a fast sight picture at 20 yards.
Just depends on what you're going to be doing with the rifle.

Just depends on what you're going to be doing with the rifle. X2 Saw a kid talk his dad into 8-32 Night force scopes for their AR-15 5.56s they were buying for a hog hunt at night. Talk about wrong application of a great scope.

Talk about wrong application of a great scope. You mean if I crank it up to 32X it won't bring in more of the 'night' for me to see?

If you are going to stretch the 224V out to its potential, that sounds like a good magnification range.
