I try my best to recycle everything I can, I even dumpster dive in my house when other knuckle heads forget that we have a separate recycle can inside.

I used to have 2 cans in side, but family can’t get it right so I gave up. If you can’t do it right, don’t do it at all. I recycle some stuff like boxes and when I shred documents, trash I have control over.

We recycle as much as we can, even my 3 year old has picked up on what can go into the recycle can.

I get my recycling bin delivered around August 1. Alabama is slowly catching up to the civilized world.

You recycle the shredded paper? In San Antonio we put shredded paper in the recycle and got a written notice that it was not acceptable and if we did it again we could face fines.

Yep, I put in see thru blue bag by itself. If it was not acceptable, they would not pick it up.

Yep my buddy got the same notice. It didn't make any sense to me. why bother recycling if you are going to get fined for doing it incorrectly. I understand notifying the homeowner about what they're doing wrong the fines a little much if you ask me. Hell I'll just throw everything in the trash if that the case. The shredded stuff goes in the green can.

The trucks have cameras so they can see what comes out of your cans as they dump it.

I don't have enough trash to worry about it.

I just called our city, they said we should not recycle shredded paper, so I guess I’ll stop doing it, ,and maybe I’m lucky I never got a ticket, probably because the website doesn’t say you can’t. They said it stops up their machine.

we recycle pretty much everything allowed. We have two large bins, one trash & one recycle. Trash comes every week, recycle every other week. They could pick up trash every other week and recycle every week to suit us better.

Really makes no sense to me, because as I understand it one of the first steps in the process of recycling paper is to.... you guessed it... shred it.

I wonder what percent of the recycling trash they collect actually gets recycled, probably very low, which results in very high cost, tax $$$ that could probably be better spent.

Stoessel did a segment on recycling a while back. Glass is the biggest joke. Very few places do it ; way cheaper to make new. We're not running out of sand.

I try to recycle as much as possible, but I'm not sure how much the government actually recycles.
