I found out TPWD shares the harvest data on most of there hunts. Thought as much as this forum has helped me I would throw this together. Hopefully, all the pictures are legible on the forum. Everything is sorted from highest percentage to lowest.

Thanks for your efforts. That's way too much work for this computer challenged old man. I usually just expand the table out two or three times, put on my readers, and try to follow the lines. Goes to show that the most highly bragged on hunts are not always the highest success.

Man, the Chap sure gets a lot of standby applicants for very few spots.

Its also important to look at the number of permits issued when it comes to your chances of getting drawn.

True. I was hoping it would have the number of people that applied to get the likelihood of drawing. But, that still doesn't take preference points into account.

When I hunted the Chap the first time, David Synatske was the manager and a real nice guy. He had been there for about 25 years, and never been able to hunt it himself.

There were probably 80 standby hunters in the parking lot, and almost every one was a single. He explained to them that all of the drawn hunters has shown up, but he had a policy of drawing one standby card no matter what. He explained to every one to scout thru the crowd and join each other as 4 man teams, because 1:20 was sure better than 1:80 odds. My respect for him went up immensely, and they did draw a full card.

It sure is a great place to experience.

The number of applicants that submitted for last year is usually listed in the individual hunting categories found online. Although I believe you are correct that preference points are not counted so your true odds may be difficult to assess.

I think your right. If memory serves me right I removed them since they were useless without preference points. Tried to take out some columns so the images would fit the screen.
