Is it real and to what degree? I believe there is some global warming due to Greenhouse gas but not to the extent that certain people want you to believe. Thoughts?

I think regardless of wether or not green house gas has has anything to do with so called climate change. The two biggest consumers of fossil fuels are India and China and they could care less about climate change or anything else concerning the environment so unless someone wants to put the screws to them it doesnt matter and I am not going to worry about it.

Of course climate change is real. The climate has been changing since the beginning of time! Depending on your views, that may be billions of years ago, or just a few thousand years ago, but the one thing that is the same either way, is that the climate has always been changing. Sometimes it is colder (think ice age), and sometimes it is not. It's just like my ex-wife's moods. It is always on a pendulum.

I believe the earth is self cleaning. Our snap shots of 10k years aint nothing on a 40 billion year scale.
One volcano can release thousands of years worth of greenhouse gas.

I have no doubt the large majority of us could be better stewards of the earth. Can we affect or stop climate change to a relevant degree? I don't think so.

Glacier valleys or even lost cities show that we are warming, the issue is we dont have enough long term data to verify if its a trend or a cycle

It is not the climate change we should be concerned with, it is the trash and pollution that we are leaving for the next generations. Abilene has a new "mountain" north of town, that was built with our garbage. San Angelo has a new "mountain east of town on the old Ballinger highway. DFW, you are building a new "mountain" range that will one day equal the Rockies. Even small towns have their new "mountains", Snyder's is south of town on highway 84. That is just the trash, none of the air pollution. But one of these days these "mountains could reach an elevation that they will have snow capped peaks, and each little town could have their own ski resort. Then it won't be global warming, we will be entering the ice age... Just think, one day someone could be selling T shirts with "Ski Abilene at the City Dump" or maybe "Ski DFW's Trash Mountain"

Yep, the climate ebbs and flows over long expanses of time. In my opinion, there is not anything man can do to change it one way or another.
However, I do think as good stewards of the planet, we should be concerned with trash, especially the plastics that find their way into the oceans. I've watched programs where people visit very remote islands and find the beaches covered with plastics. Fortunately, there is a great deal of development going into the structure of plastics seeking bio-degradable alternatives, and recycling may one day catch up as well.
Dalroo Deep in the Heart of Texas How about that Brandon!
