All this talk on the forums about 6.5 loads. Its silly.
I am going to help all of you out quick and fast if you can load your own.
Version 1: If you know how to find the lands.
Get either a Berger 140 hybrid or a 140 ELD-M bullet
Prime that sucker with either a Br-2 or 210M primer.
Hornady says the factory load is 41.5 grains of H4350. It aint. Its going to be 42.0 grains, if not higher.
I would load with 42.1g of H4350.
Load that sucker .10 off the lands to start. With the ELD-M, I like it at a touch. YMMV, but .10 off is is good EASY start.
Version 2:
Get yourself a Berger 140 hybrid or a 140 ELD-M bullet
Cant find the lands? Load that sucker to 2.810 COAL
42.1 grains of H4350.
Any primer other than WINLR. Those suckers are hot and you might have to back down in charge. Might not.
Now, YMMV, and im not taking blame to sloppy handloaders, but out of the many, many 6.5 Creeds in the 24-26 inch barrel length this gives an honest 2800 fps.
If you want to substitute RL-17, back down to 41.5 and you might see 2850 with the same components. I have no experience with the new RL-16, but I have heard its close to H4350.
I consider 6.5 creed a "cheater" cartridge. Its super easy to load for and super accurate. I find the factory Hornady ammo extremely accurate, and If I didnt handload, wouldnt hesitate using this stuff in a match.
As always, I am not an attorney, not responsible for stupidity, and absolutely agree you should not listen to me and stick to reloading manuals.

Good stuff, but if you want something even better get some 147 ELDM's and stuff a Hornady case to the bottom of the neck with RL26. Seat 147's way out there.........Works like a champ in the T3X and CTR.

Yes that why I don’t recommend 6.5 Creedmoor to reloaders... it’s too easy. They should get a 25 WSSM or similar and neck it up to 6.5 so they can have some stress and strife is their lives. They will learn perseverance and how to cuss. That’s I guess why folks hate the Creedmoor so much... it just too easy.

It will spoil a man. Everything shoots sub minute you just pick the lower single digit sd node and run with it.

DoubleD's words years ago, when someone was asking about loading for the 6.5X47. "Let me save you some time, load a CCI-450, and 37.0 gr of H-Varget under a 140 gr."

6.5 is easy. But for me, that made it easy to learn on because it eliminates a lot of variables that beginners don't know how to control. I got a case of 210M, Hornady brass, 140 ELD-M, and H-4350. Started .030 off the lands and nothing between 42.0 and 43.0 shot consistently good. But I noticed at 43.0, I was starting to get stringing instead of just random shotgun groups, and I'd heard Chad say a number of times that stringing was a sign of getting close to a node. So I tried 43.2 and that load just freaking works, in all temps, all weather, at any OAL from. 010 to .030 off the lands. And it's fast for a Tikka. So I have Chad's wisdom to thank for helping me find a load, and the ease of the 6.5 for teaching me the basics of reloading and load development.
Anyway, I do agree that it's easy. There isn't near as much work as there is with other calibers, because Hornady figured it all out years ago.

How is this sucker 3 shot group at 300 yards. 42.0 grains, Fed.210M, .003" off lands, 140 Hybrid, Nosler brass I missed the bullseye.

Can't even hit the bullseye, gun is trash. Just give it to me and I'll dispose of it properly.
