Freaked out my X brother inlaw and his buddies out on his ranch one night, one of them was walking up the wall and they said kill it. I went over laid my hand down flat palm side up let it crawl on my arm and walked it over to them laugh

Tarantulas are beneficial spiders they always get a pass up

My son loves tarantulas. He's had some pretty exotic ones, and a few of them were a-holes. The Texas browns have always been real docile though. Cool pic, Hetman. cheers

They must populate in cycles, for a few years we won't see any, then they are like an invasion of them.

I just read a few days ago that this is supposed to be a big year for them

Don't have many around here, but they get a pass when I do see them.

I found a huge one outside the house last week. First one I’ve seen in20 years. They used to be thick around Bowie.

We used to have them in East Texas when I lived in Marshall. We would let them crawl up our arms and play with them, guess we were lucky to never have one bite us. Haven't seen one in many years around here.

I'd rather be bitten by 40 Texas brown tarantulas than get stung by 1 red wasp. No chit. And happy birthday.

I found one in a box I had in a pile of boxes leftover from some engine parts on a drilling rig I had just built. I let it crawl up my arm and the welder (a good friend from HS) saw it and his eyes got huge. I walked over to him and he lost it and took off running. He always was pudgy and slow, and I am the opposite. He ran and got short of breath and when he got over by the gin trucks he grabbed a cheater off of one, and told me that was enough, he had severe arachnophobia. I nearly passed out from laughing so hard.

I had one by beside my house in Waco area the other day. I've actually never seen one not in a pet store cage. Startled me, to say the least.

Benbrook a few weeks ago. Settle down after a few seconds of crawling up and down my arm. Released unharmed....
