Hey y'all
I left Texas in 1984 to go wherever Uncle Sam sent me...but now, I finally get to move back to the Lone Star State!
I'm retired Army (28 years active), but I still work for the Big Green Machine as a civilian...
Anyhow, I am moving to the San Antonio in late July and naturally, my thoughts turn to Dove Season...but I have no contacts on who to talk to or where to go for a good dove hunt or two...
Any options?
P.S. I am not looking for any honey holes...just some leads on how to plug into the bird hunting around San Antonio...
Fire Away...!

Check the "Outfitters & Guides" tab. That's how I got started after hanging up my uniform. Deer, Dove, Crane, Goose, etc... There are a lot of great individuals to work with.

How far are you willing to drive?
I hunt with Kendal White at Golden Triangle Outfitters in Uvalde.
Then I'd also recommend Haiden at South Texas Hunting Outfitters, he has hunts in Uvalde and Baitesvilles.

Hopedale...
Thanks for the tip on the TPWD APH permit...I used to hunt TX and federal public lands in my younger days and certainly know what that means...I will check it out.
A lease may be beyond my means for this year, so I guess beyond the public lands, I will also be interested in some of the guided operations within a two hour drive of San Antonio.
As far as the hunting license goes, my disability rating should exempt me from the state hunting license...still have to purchase the migratory bird option, though.
Appreciate all your help!
Joe
