Fairly new to hog hunting (2 years) but love it. Took me 2 years asking the right questions to the right people to find a place close. Here's a bit of this year so far. I can answer any questions and may ask a bunch in the future regarding video making. This one sucks but its my first so there's that.

up Nice video..now to get some shooting clips in there. What did you use to edit your video? Been wanting to do some editing to my videos for a better presentation.

I made a vacation doodle for the family once using Windows Movie Maker. Not even available now but I still had it and used it. YouTube strips copyrighted music so I don't know how to embed music. This was added in the youtube app but you can only load one track realmad I think there are other programs out there that are free. Suggestions crowd? As for music, I think there are tracks out there you can add during production but again.....crowd?

@ Goodo….

Farm stores (local) is where I started asking. Was a regular customer, and just asked. More than once but not very often. Two years later the proprietor finally hooked me up. The people who live on the property (2 houses) - I let them know ahead of time when I'm coming, when I get there, and when I leave. WITHOUT FAIL. The farm is small but was overrun. Pasture looked like a tee box for giants. This spring I took out about a dozen, with three doubles. Including an entire sounder. I scouted and have a couple cameras up. I throw a little corn (like 1 gallon or less) just to get them to stop when I go out. Currently have an crack in the armor of another rancher - sells beef at the local farmers market. Again, ask once in a while. Buying a half a steer last 2 years helps. They may let me come on since their current hunters aren't doing the job. Same day got another lead at the farm store....just no time to go.

It takes time. There is a pig problem, but you really have to trust someone to let them come on your land with firearms. Trespassing happens all the time, as does poaching. Casual hunters and problem solvers aren't the same thing - a guy has a problem and wants it solved. I work the property regularly and communicate with the owners and I got results. I text my results to them as well.

Cast a wide net and spent more time where you get bites. It takes work and time, but once you get some cred it will open up.

I also use Movie Maker but have recently downloaded a free video editor, "Open Shot". Has a lot more features/capabilities and am just starting to work through it. Good luck and enjoyed your video.

I haven't tried Movie Maker, but I did use Open Shot a few times.
Since then I've settled (for now) on VideoPad. It has a free versionfor non-commercial use. You have to hunt around on their web page a bit to find it. I had read about it, and finally just did a Google search for something like "VideoPad Free". It starts out as a trial version, then after a couple of weeks it 'reverts' to the limited/free version. Among other things it only outputs in a few formats. It doesn't include MP4, I think it uses .AVI. Still, that's good enough for YouTube so I'll stick with it until I come across something better.
