I'm skeptical of SPEER because of their missteps in the past of introducing a bullet line only to quickly discontinue it.

These bullets are very interesting to me. Appears to combine Fusion/Deepcurl bonding with long range BCs and polymer tips.

Looks remarkably similar to Federals TLR bullets which would make sense as ATK owns both SPEER AND Federal.
I am looking at trying them in the 300 WSM

I think the TLR has a sold shank but the rest of it is similar. Should be a little cheaper than the TLR.

True on both counts. I have always had good luck with Speer bullets but they just are not available in my local market .

Speer lost my respect by advertising or releasing a product only to pull it right after and only produce it for factory ammo. Last thing I want is to work a load up and then not be able to get more bullets after all that time and effort.

Seems like they even decided one was dangerous and had a potential for pressure spikes so they pulled it, later to show up in factory ammo. It did I make that up? I think thats right.

Personally, I'm sold on the regular Speer Gold-Dots. They are a premium plated bullet sold at a cup-n-core price. What they weigh when they leave the barrel & where they stop is always same.

If the plastic tip added for high BC doesn't mess-up the mushroom, Speer should have a winner with this hunting bullet!

I think they had the Fusion out first with Federal and later releases the DeepCurl to reloader but it had a dimpled heal vs a boat tail. I heard the dimpled heal caused the pressure spikes and they yanked them.

Heard the same thing yet they yanked deep cores and trophey bonded bearclaw for no reason. Although the latter can be bought through federal as loaded ammo.

Perhaps it is where I am and where I shop, but speer has never been stocked as well and from what I have seen doesn't compete pricewise.

Kinda the same here although it seems if they do carry it it's only pistol or some odd weight hot core that are priced higher than Sierra or nosler stuff that I gravitate to for hunting bullets.
