I got down to to the lease this weekend to clean up a recently acquired lease camper and do a little pig hunting while I was at it. I had the new camper parked at my granddad's house until we can get camp mowed and cleaned up to swap them out. Pics of the new camper Saturday night I got back to my granddad's and went inside for a few minutes before coming back out to move my truck up a few feet. As I walked around the back of my truck this guy was coming out from under my truck just in front of the left rear tire. Luckily I was using the flashlight on my phone and we pretty much startled each other. As I about crapped myself it buzzed briefly and quickly darted back under my truck. I ran to the right side with the light and no sign of it. I got down and looked under the truck and nothing so I quickly run into my camper and put on my snake boots and grab my good flashlight. I search the area around my truck and nothing. First thing I thought was I hope it didn't crawl up into my truck so I quickly looked under my truck again and still nothing. I searched around the carport and gates before looking on the inside of the yard and is where I finally found it coiled up just inside the chain link fence under some vines. I was able to line up a couple of hogs but one stumbled around the feeder before finally running off and wasn't able to find with the tall weeds and no blood trail. The other one was still under the feeder. Every time I would come up to one of the cattle guards on the lease there was always a fox there and would only run off about 15 yards or so and my first thought was there was a den nearby. The second time I actually saw one of the pups some out. As I drove up onto the cattle guard I stopped and killed the truck and I saw 2 pups come out.

Glad you spotted it in time. You sure there was only one ?

Glad you spotted it in time. You sure there was only one ? At the time yup. I looked on the right side of my truck and where I found him was just in front of my truck inside the fence.

That rattler looks almost identical in size to the one I just killed in my backyard 15 minutes ago. BTW, cool pics
