Why the radial instead of a 3 or 4 port?

Duck, I've always preferred the radial style brake. In my experience and watching allot of horizontal brakes shot prone, you get plenty of "dirt and debris" on firing either way you go. I have a horizontal on my 6.5 Creedmoor, like it too.

I dont shoot much prone anymore, fat, neck, back, yada.

Omega 300 TI should be here September/October and will replace both then

Buzz, I was just curious about the scope, so thanks for the reply. I may wind up with an NX8 as well, but I put an Ares BTR on my Tikka CTR CM and have run 300 rods or so through it. It is has done everything very well so far, and tracts as it should. I'll be interested in hearing how you get along with that Athlon if you don't mind. Thanks and good luck....really nice rig you've got there.

actually i got a call from Keefer at Europtics, My NX8 is here, 3rd one in the States. So, i will probably not use the athlon at all.

I would buy one with confidence though.
