While the wife took her after church nap today I made her a surprise for when she got up. I made a Peach Galette. A galette is like a pie, but it is made with a single crust and no pie pan.
I butchered 5 fresh peaches today. The peaches were not free stone so I had chopped peaches when I was finished getting the stone out.
I whipped up a home made pie crust. I added the peaches and a couple tablespoons of sugar to the center of the rolled out dough. Next I rolled the edges of the crust over the fruit. Then cooked the galette in a 400 degree Farenheit oven for about 20 minutes.
Wife woke from her nap to come see what I was baking.......
The bottom photo is a galette I made last year when I had free stone peaches that sliced into pretty slices.
