I’m thinking about picking up a lazy man penthouse blind. Anyone have experience with these? Obviously I’m attracted to the price. What do you guys think??

I've been looking at the penthouse too. I watched the assembly video and I think it'll work just fine. Just keep in mind that you'll have to build your own base; and since it's basically two halves that you bolt together, I would silicon or seal that seam on the inside, just in case the outer plastic gasket fails at some point. The fiberglass appears to be a bit thinner than most, but to me that's a big advantage to me because it's easier to move around. I don't need something built like a brick outhouse. For the price i'm in.

First I have heard of these. What is the floor like?

So I picked one up. Walls are super thin, but I must admit, I like how light it is. Yes, there is a floor... Same material as the shell walls. In addition, they give you a precut sheet of particle board to place on the floor the reinforce it. I went ahead and put in a thicker sheet of plywood to make the floor studier. Let's see how it holds up in the next couple of years.

We bought two of these and have used them for two years. I was surprised with the walls being as thin as they were, that they would hold the heat in as good as they did. Overall, been happy with them, especially for the price.

What are your thoughts on the windows? I had read some other reviews where they seemed to be a problem...there was talk of some sort of bolt? One fella broke two windows because he wasn't gentle enough with them. I have place near me that has some set up - thinking I'll go look at them in person this weekend.

I'm not crazy about the windows but able to work with them. They just use some plexiglass that slide in a track to move them up and down, but they are a tight fit in the track making it hard to move them. I was going to work on them but haven't had the chance. I have heard they have made some changes to the windows but not sure if that is the case or not.

A friend of mine lives in Magnolia and picked them up in Cleveland area I believe. If I'm not mistaken, the closest place to me was Victoria but that was a couple of years ago so I'm not too sure about that.
