A good way for me to start my day is to burn a little gas in the outboard, while drinking coffee before going to work. Snapped this cell phone picture before lowering the boat into the lake. My days are more productive at work when I start in a good mood - even a 30 minute cruise can do that sometimes.

The dark cloud on the left edge is a thunderstorm cell that passed through moving East - left. So the puffy clouds are are on the trailing edge of the storm cell.

Now that's the way to live. It sure beats the 7 blades of grass and a privacy fence most folks stare at in their backyard nowadays.

Wow! I don't have such a beautiful view but I enjoy the lake too. I'm an old fart & I no longer have to get up early, although I still enjoy a hot cup of coffee on my dock here on lake LBJ in the morning. Right now I'm enjoying a windy evening on the dock sipping on a glass of Woodford with a dash of branch water after a pork chop dinner. Isn't life grand!

pertmear, that's how our view looks this morning. It isn't always great, but I take time to enjoy it anyway.
Came up here from Bastrop about 18 months ago, and it was a good decision. But I do miss being on acreage in the dense pines sometimes.

Marc

Marc, We've been living on the lake full time now for about 17 years after moving here from San Antonio. It's great & we feel very fortunate. We enjoy the lake every day, even if that means just looking out the front windows.

Now that the weekend has arrived there will be the drone of jet-skis & wake boats along with weed-eaters & lawn mowers, but they all go away by Sunday evening. We do enjoy watching young people having lake fun too though!

A boat ride early or late in the evening on a week days makes you feel like you own the whole lake. Marc, I'll post another lake picture when we have one of those strangely beautiful scenes if you'll do the same!

Me neither! But it's all about picking the neighborhood carefully and budget compromises. Being only an hour from Dallas drives the prices up, but this area is cheap (and low property taxes) compared to the lakes on the North side.

There are many waterfront homes here with land (5 to 60 aces) but they are out of my league. I'll stay in the cheap seats with my 2/3 of an acre and 33,000 acres of backyard that doesn't need mowing, grin

I thought that looked like Cedar creek. Looks like the Caney city bridge in the background. Very nice place you have, Mark.

Wow, good eye! That is indeed the 198 Bridge in Caney City - 2.1 miles out.

We bought a 1970's beater-fixer-upper in a good location out near the the tip of an island/peninsula 18 months ago. It's got good bones and is livable while we work on it. Nine feet under the dock when the lake is full, was a deciding factor. Give me another year, and it will be passable. The important thing to us was getting out to end - past Log Cabin.

Nice Marc.

Not quite the same but this view gets my morning started. Not a big lake but it's mine.
