I usually have help, but if I don't I like to build them so that I can assemble and take down alone. The walls are independent and fit together and fastened from the inside. I use thin plywood (3/8), 2 x 2's where ever possible, glue every surface, 16 ga. finish nails, hex head wood fasteners from the inside to assemble, plastic on the roof and three coats of paint. I like a blind small enough so that I can shoot out of any window. This one is ready for windows and a 6" wide shooting rest around the inside walls. This will fit on my quad pod tower built by Ramball. The half door fits to open under the welded rail and swings out as I go up the ladder and in.

Ordered deerview windows, about three weeks to make and deliver them. Two are custom, two standard. Lumber, paint, glue and roofing material ran me about $150.00. Windows were $200, delivered. My window openings are 11" wide. Two are 45-1/2" long, two are 34" giving me a solid corner that is painted dark camo for a wind break and something to hide behind. The corner shelves wrap all the way around, giving me a front and rear shooting rest.

That looks awesome! I love big windows and small corners.

I've done that before. I built one on the side of a steep hill one, Pipe Creek Ranch in the hill country. Carried it in in pieces by myself, wasn't all that bad, came out pretty good.

I was also about 25 years younger!!!

thanks, BD

Thanks, Billy

Headed to the lease this weekend, going to install on tower. Hoping for a delivery from deer view windows before Friday. That's a little ahead of their promised delivery but maybe.

up looks good....I build mine pretty much the same....I only use 2x2's making it very light and I can assemble on a 12ft tower platform by myself (provided its not windy). I used a gallon of deckover paint on the last 2 blinds I built for me and my son...seems to work pretty well protecting the wood....had it mixed to a drab shade of green...add some corner flashing and it's good to go....

Deerview windows didn't arrive for this trip, went ahead installed. I measured the inside and height of rail and built to fit. One wall at a time, then self tapping to the base. I'll put some rubber snap together exercise flooring, it's about 1/2" thick. Corner shelves all around for a front and rear rest for a shot in all directions. [Linked Image]

Awesome job!
I've built a few boxes in my time. But I still remember as a kid, that building a new deer blind meant putting up some scrap boards in a tree! I guess I've come a long way.... hammer

With Deer view windows. These are a well thought out, great, quality product. I ordered two custom, two standard. If you're building your own blind and want small corners with large, full view window opening this is the way to go. Give them your dimensions and they'll nail it. My fit is perfect, all you need is enough framing to mount the hinge, so allow for this in your design:

I finally ordered some windows last season and they are a game changer especially when I have the kids with me.
