After three years in a row of sweating in the TX heat on opening weekend, but failing to get a 15 bird limit, we're headed to Argentina for the first week in September banana
Forget Dove Hunting, this is Dove SHOOTING!!!

The flights are more expensive than the last time we went, but I've got enough airline miles to get me there and back (but not enough for an upgrade frown )
The price of the hunt actually goes down, since September is a low booking month them.

Maybe a light jacket first thing in the morning, short sleeves after lunch.
1000 rounds in the morning, lunch and a siesta, another 1000 rounds in the afternoon. Back to lodge for a little local whiskey and some great food. peep

Fantastic time to go there. Which outfitter are you going with?

September is the the "Off season"... great shooting, just not may from the US that want to go in Sept.
The hunt itself is $1090. Add about $400 for licenses and gun rental, and about then tips for the bird boy and staff.
We are seeing flights between $1400 and $1900, depending on the city you start from . ( I'm luck, I have points to get me there.) The flight selection is limited because you need to arrive in the AM on the first day and depart after 4:00 PM on the last day. Otherwise, you might find cheaper flights, but you would need to spend the night in a hotel or the airport. The outfitter picks you up at the airport and its about 1 1/2 hour drive to the lodge.
The real variable is AMMO. I've seen folks that were very happy shooting a couple of thousand rounds. Both time I have been, a went through $2000 in ammo. He usually runs a special that includes the first 2500 rounds for about $1100, then its about $0.50/round.

So yea, $5K all in, if you're light on the trigger. $6K if you are heavy. $7K if you really get carried away.

It's all about how much you shoot. Have a blast! My buddy did! Got 2000 one day just to match the name droppers on the lodge wall. Cha ching.... Good selling tactic. Vendor paid of course. It's changed a lot.

Spent a couple of hours looking for and booking the flights. Turns out booking through LATAM, as code-share flights with America, was way cheaper than booking through America. The icing on the cake is that booking through LATAM, the entire itinerary is refundable with no fee. Flying out on 9/2 and returning 9/6. banana

If you're booking through LATAM in Buenos Aires make sure you know which airport you're flying out of and into. There's two in Buenos Aires, EZE (international) and AEP (domestic). They are about an hour apart. There's a handful of flights from EZE (international) to Cordoba, but they don't always leave at ideal times for getting in an afternoon hunt or morning hunt.

I've done that trip a bunch of times, PM me if I can help at all.

Thanks. I’m aware of that from work travel, back in the 90s, but we’re not going through BA on either direction. I think we go through Santiago on the way there and Brazil on the way back.

I've always heard that shells are where they really get you. Never been but can you ship yourself ammo? I'm guessing no.

So you want to ship HAZMAT INTERNATIONALLY, to a country where you, as a tourist, cannot legally have possession of the firearm and the ammo in the same vehicle?

Nope, not happening.

They are basically charging about double what ammo cost us in the US. Considering that the ammo cost is also covering additional wear and tear on the guns you rent from them, I don't begrudge them charging $11/box.

Sounds like things have certainly changed since I was there. Shell prices still about the same but airfare and outfitters costs are up. Enjoy the shooting and food.

Where did you go that ammo was $11/box??? And the $50-$75/day for the gun rental covers the wear and tear on the rental guns. They could buy new guns every 2 weeks for what they charge for renting guns.

I am booked for Cordoba spring break next year with my son. Can't wait. I think last time I went 5 years ago shells were $12.50 too. I think I went through 190 boxes that trip.
