Do not push it back. Cause when it falls on Tuesday through Friday I need a reason to leave work behind.

I like how it falls on the first of the month, there are definitely less people hunting when it opens in the middle of the week.

If I'm on one of those big local leases I prefer the opener during the week. My job is flexible enough to take advantage of it.

I don't mind the Sun kick off tho since I'm not on one this year. Give me a day to scout our place, have some cold ones, maybe choot some hogs. We won't have more than two days of good hunting anyway so it'll work out one way or another.

About 3 years ago we started seeing less and less dove on our place.
I think it has to do with neighborhoods going in around us and people put out birdfeeders.
We used to get close to the season limit, but now its something to kill 2 a day.
Hopefully more dove this year.

It don't get better than this. College football on Saturday. Sleep in and hunt Sunday and still get to sleep in Monday! With this much rain won't have dove anyway so it's a perfect work weekend.

It's June, could get pretty dry by the time September rolls around

Yep, great when it falls in the middle of the week. Hope there are a bunch of birds this year.

Not so many last year, I think it was due to global warming.

You dont want a 3 day opener long weekend like last year, as on day 4 the fields are shot out by a bunch of double dipping yahoos.

Goodbye, thanks for coming, see you next year.

I shot more doves in dec compared to all sept last year. Oct was good too.

Last several years I hunt the opener and I’m done with dove, turn my attention to early teal and regular duck season.

You need to go to wichita falls.
Different ballgame up there.
Muddy waters would be my first choice.
Thousands of birds.

It's an El Nino summer, my friend.
