I don't know that's how it works, but it appears to. I figured I'd share since y'all like talking about feeder noise so much. If you're wondering about the cost, it is likely because linear actuators are expensive compared to other motors.

These are made in TX, btw: https://www.quietfeeder.com/index.html

I want my feeder to be loud. It's like ringing a dinner bell.

Training the deer, you've heard that before haven't you?

I like how you explained that like nobody understands. It's not complicated. We all understand the ins and outs whether we consider different details important or not.

Dr. Howl

Why would you post a thread about protein feeders when you're stated objective was silently dropping corn? I thought I was doing you a favor, didn't know they covered that in your post-doc work.

My apologies...

I can agree and disagree with that. Sure several deer come a running to the sound of a feeder going off to the point that there are electronics/calls that mimic the sound of a feeder going off, but I believe there are also plenty of deer that do the complete opposite under hunting pressure.

We use to get plenty of mature buck pictures at our feeders. We started hunting them and most of the time they will come through here and there but not usually regular and wont stay long. Put hand corn out with a camera on it and they come to it much better.
