A friend on here is trying to help my brother's widow sell some land. She doesn't need to sell it, but it needs to be sold. It's a place my parents bought and put their heart and soul in. For all practical purposes, it's abandoned; the neglect starting way before my brother even got sick.

'Point is, she's not dealing with anything. Now, most folks would say "normal depression after a death" or that she's just overwhelmed. But I watched my brother do the same thing for years. And, I was married to a woman for eleven years, the mother of my daughters, that I'd have to beg her to make a decision about anything. 'Pretty sure the ex was as Passive-Aggressive as they come.

This woman has recently been on a cruise with her buddies, goes back and forth to visit her daughter and grandchildren, etc. We're not talking a reclusive shut-in.

What say the THF? Have anyone like this in your life? Is this a way to show power over people when you have no other way? The sad thing is, I feel vindicated for all the years I've put up with this crap when someone from the outside, financial advisors, realtors, etc., try to diplomatically imply that they've never seen anything like it before. Thank goodness, I don't have to deal with her over much anymore, but I feel for the folks that do.

putting off the inevitable ... putting things off just because they don't want to deal with it, procrastination.
