My wife had a team building event with her work. They went to the building in Dallas and parked at the facility where the event was. When they leave, several of their cars were gone. Yelp, it got towed. They were parked in a legal parking spot at the same facility they were at. Signs said no guest parking until after 6:30 pm. It was 7 pm, so they all parked there. What sucks, is you have to pay to get your car back ($165), then fight the charges and plead your case. To whom I have no idea. Dallas has become the armpit of a city in Texas, and I will forever now avoid Dallas as much as possible. I can go on and on about Dallas.

Its not the towns fault, blame the tow truck companies.

That happened to my daughter's car at her apartment when she was in law school in Austin. The car was in her assigned parking spot. My wife happened to be there. They fought it but had to pay the thugs.

Call the news. Only way to get it taken care of.

It was the business or the owner of the parking lot, not the city of Dallas. The team manager is also partly at fault for not arranging for the parking before the meeting.

Y'all are missing the point. It's a scam! They tow the car and they have you. You must pay to get it out at that point.

I dont hold them i very high regard, right up there with the tax collectors. Had it escalate in college one time in my younger dumber days where I blocked in a wrecker trying to illegally tow my buddy. tough guy comes out with a big ol' wrench at which point we point out the gunrack in the back of our truck window. dumbarse gets back into his tow truck and calls the campus police. they show up, get the whole story, tell the guy to drop the car and ask if we want to press charges for him "brandishing" a wrench. Im sure theyre are good tow truck drivers, but good people definitely underrepresented in that profession.

That's why I said call the news. Their investigative eporter does these exact same stories at least once a year.
