Had fun blowing up some fruit with Tannerite on Saturday. We started out with 1/2 pound and worked our way up to 2 lbs. This video is what 2lbs did to a watermelon. happy3

We were about 30 - 35 yards away. Any more Tannerite and I think we'd need to back up a bit.

On that one, Yes. We started with 1/2 lb (it was ok) then went to 1 lb (pretty cool), then went to 2 lbs (felt the shock wave and a few rocks).

We're now making plans to go up to 10 lbs. We're just trying to figure out what to blow up and how far back we need to be. I'm thinking we'll play it safe and shoot from at lease 150 yards.

Asking for a friend, but would a pellet gun or .22 set off Tannerite?

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

No, it has to be shot with a high powered rifle. It can be hit with a hammer or thrown in a fire and nothing will happen to it.

A 223 will do it. Maybe a 22.

Be careful. I have heard that if you put 10 lbs of tannerite in a coffee can and tape the lid on tight, then put a large stump on top of said can and shoot it with a .223 at 100 yards, you WILL get rained on by some rather large chunks of wood, and you will be looking for cover. Jes sayin' 2cents

The Goliath tannerite is 22 sensitive and works really well. It's as loud as a 1/4-1/2lb charge of standard tannerite but has an impact zone about the size of a quarter

Wish I still had the video of ~35 lbs underneath an old junker car....it was wild!
