I've been looking for a partner to ride around in the truck, go on hikes, maybe even find a dove I hit in deep brush. Saw a dog on petfinder, a rescue, and immediately was attracted to her. Went to meet her and she wanted NOTHING to do with me but I knew she was perfect for me. Picked her up the next week after a home visit by the foster mom and dad. I have no idea what she truly is, a hybrid pointer/Dane mix seems likely. I do know she's awesome. She has a strong hunt instinct but gentle with small dogs, cats and kids. She's polite; takes treats gently, walks great on a leash and never tries to "escape" me. Heck, she rarely even barks! One fault/trait is she'll get to hunting/exploring and forget I exist. She gets so locked in on scents it's hard to get her attention. I just ordered a Sportdog 425 and I think after a little work with that she'll be more responsive. I'm thinking short hair her body and head are just like my short hair, but what do I know I stayed in a Hampton Inn not a Holiday inn.  I'm sure she will be great, good luck!!

Outstanding...I've rescued many GSP's and Labs...THAT is pointer/dane mix. She looks like a lot of fun.
