No results yet here either.... but thanks for starting 4 days of obsessively checking the computer!!!

Put in for Limited Entry Elk, Mule Deer and Bear.

Hunting with two CO residents who are pretty much guaranteed their bull and buck tags.

Hoping to see my preference points disappear off the website soon!!!!

congrats that means I am logging again right now to check. So did you see the charge first before you were notified from CO?
Too bad the fixed the backdoor last year.

I have not been notified of what if any tags I have drawn but I signed on and looked and my preference point balances have changed so I can kinda tell what happened for me in the draw.

I just gained a preference point so I guess I didn't get drawn for antelope. Again.

Got my bear tag. It’s the only tag I put in for in CO. Points elsewhere in Colorado this year.

September LE rifle black bear in CO
October Wyoming General Elk (still waiting on antelope draw)
November New Mexico Coues’ deer
January taking a buddy to AZ to chase muley’s and Coues’ deer with his bow

Could get any antlerless tag in Utah, other than cow moose anyway. But probably not going to try and squeeze any of those tags in. Part of me kind of wants to get all three of those tags (doe mule deer, doe Antelope, and cow elk) in adjacent units with concurrent seasons and make a low pressure meat trip out of it one of these days. I think I’d be out $300 for all three tags.

BUSY FALL!!! I'm chasing CO bears as well. Was just there last weekend for a wedding and a bear literally crashed the reception, just ambled right through!! Probably won't be that easy to find in September!

What rifle are you taking and whats your general game plan?? Glass, sit water, sit the oaks?

Basically yes. Plan to find oak brush with good acorn crop with hopefully water and berries nearby. Then find a spot to glass that area from. I’ve found a few lower basins that look promising on google earth. Not planning too much back country for this hunt. Taking my 300WM, carbon barrel, suppressed, about 10lbs with a full mag, VX6, and the suppressor.

The bears are supposed to be pretty visible in September. They should be on their feet 18-20 hours a day. They are packing on weight for the winter (hyperfagia).

That's what I like to hear!!! I was hunting elk back in 2016 and saw the biggest black bear on foot I've ever seen... bigger than what I used to see in eastern NC!

He was hanging out at a water hole in a ravine after coming out of the oaks.

I'm taking a sub-8lb Tikka 270wsm with either 145 ELDX or 150gr Partitions.

GOOD LUCK!!

No luck for me and my 2 sons on pronghorn and deer. I also have confirmation from friends who have pending credit card charges for elk, which will be released tomorrow. Unfortunately for me, I do not have a pending CC charge, so that means I'm likely unsuccessful.

Both my son & I drew limited rifle bear tags in September. Pretty pumped about that.

Did not get drawn for antelope, but DID get drawn for mule deer. I'm happy about that!
