They're NOT persimmons. Generally there are 2 varieties; a hard and soft. Both have "leaves on top" similar to strawberry.

This is definitely in the same botanical family as peaches, plum, apricots and loquat fruit.

It is at a old house on a place that my son has leased to run some cattle. It had fruit a few years ago but I have never seen it like this.

My wife is from Arkansas. She's ok though as I checked before we got married and both thumbs and all 10 toes are there. Born and raised in Texas and she was first person I ever heard say that - and I grew up around a lot of ape ri cot trees. Jersey,, lol. Least I don't eat pee can pie.

Looks like a variety of plumcot that my sister has in her yard.
