This ol' boar wasn't the biggest I've ever shot, and over 100 Lbs less than the one in the video DNS just posted, but it was still a good sized hog.
The heart girth measured 39½ inches, indicating a weight of about 195 pounds.

I'd scored a 160 Lb sow a couple of days earlier, then missed a couple of easy shots. I sighted in my rifle and discovered it was off by at least eight inches at 75 yards! Having corrected that issue I went out Monday evening (Memorial Day) and came across the boar.
Not sure why the video quality is so poor. I just got a new cable and need to compare the results with my old cable?

Rifle was a 300 Blackout shooting a 110 grain Hornady SP at about 2,400fps. Scope is an IR Hunter MK# 60mm. The suppressor is home made from a few purchased parts on a Form 1.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

It takes more skill to hit the smaller ones! Good job!

To me...the younger ones are the greater trophy since you've taken them out of the population BEFORE they have a chance to destroy much... or procreate very many times.

Shooting an old Boar near the end of his life AFTER he has destroyed hundreds of acres of land, contaminated water sources, spread disease and bred 50 or more Sows is like 'closing the barn door after all the horses have gotten out'.

But I am happy when anybody kills ANY hog...big or small, young or old.

Keep after them guys!
