A funnel for a barrel feeder is $20. A sack of quikrete mortar mix is $5. What say y'all about pouring and forming a funnel from mortar?

Don’t know why it wouldn’t work. Will add significant weight to the feeder. Might consider adding wire mesh or fiberglass to help it stay together...

Could probably do it but seems like a lot of work to save $15.

The surface should be as smooth as the plastic or metal funnels or alo of corn will stay in the barrel.
There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.

The thing is, you can buy galvanized sheet metal and make all you want for $20, all you need is a pair of tin snips and the diameter you want to make it. I have been making them for 5gal feeders for several yrs out of the same roll I bought probably 6-7yrs ago

I would do without before adding that kind of weight.
