Ok, I've got a question for everyone. With all of the terrific deals out there, how do you pick what to buy? I've seen some amazing deals on optics, stunning deals on quality shotguns, etc., and that's not even getting into some of the deals on reloading supplies. I just pulled the trigger (pun intended, of course) on a new Dan Wesson Valkyrie at at price too low to pass, but I've seen any number of great deals over the last couple or three months.

What a great problem!

I don't have that much money laying around. I have my next gun in mind. If I ever see a good deal on one then I'll buy it. Wish I could afford to buy something just because it was a good deal though!

No room in the safe and not much excuse for buying new toys. I might buy a 6.5 Creedmore but it will be a Christmas sale if I do.

Generally, I squirrel away my pennines into a pile. When the pile gets high enough, I look around to see what's on the market. Sometimes I have a specific need and I buy that. If there's three or four things that I'd like, I pick whichever one is the best deal at the time.

I have a short wish list that I am always looking for, but as you say, sometimes along comes a deal that can't be passed up. For those occasions I have a small slush fund socked away.

My wish list is getting smaller.

CZ75
Enfield 303
Upgrade my shotguns
S&W 686 Plus Talo 3” barrel

I just upgraded my primary hunting rifle this year and I try to find one gun per year on my list.

I don't spend unless I have a role for the gun to fill. I want to retire too soon to be spending on pure wish list items.

I usually find what I really want and wait for the deal to come to me or go looking for the right one. I have yet to loose money on a gun/optic that I ended up selling. I'm at the point in optics that I dont buy to sell anymore. My interests have narrowed down that I only buy to own.

I've been buying/selling/trading since the mid 70s.... a few years ago, I made the hard decision to downsize.

These days the only thing I buy is ammo... but there are lots of good deals on that these days too.

I did buy a rifle for my grand son a few weeks back, his first, but there really isn't much on the market that interests me, personally.
