We've got some minerals under 120 ac. 6 miles out of San Augustine. For the first time ever (family owned the land since 1899) I'm getting calls at the house, calls to my kids trying to find me, etc., from guys that sound like they couldn't get a job selling used cars, trying to buy the minerals. The plus side is, that cell number change a few years ago is really paying off. banana

I think I read something about another run on the area, but I've never seen anything like this. What's the haps? I've gotten junk in the mail for years, but this is crazy.

There's not a pad site on the surface yet and the royalties from the horizontal wells underneath amount to, I guess, a decent beer money budget each month. Due to a crazy azz old cousin of my mom's that wouldn't budge for decades on doing a dam thing that cost anything to the surface (timber, etc.) , I sold our share of the surface to a neighbor. That'll fix her greedy wagon. rofl I could care less what happens on top now.

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I’m not getting the calls but there’s offers in the mail almost daily for minerals in central Texas (Madison County).

I would never sell mineral rights to 120 acres. Lease them.

Interesting, my buddy just moved his whole business from east Texas to Oklahoma. Was there a long time... They drop that little thingy in the ground to pull pipe.
