I would buy the Meopta 10x HD. Use the leftover thousand dollars for a nice 1911 or rifle.

Used Swarovski ELs in 10X42. Call Dury's Gun Shop in San Antonio. They usually have a good selection of used Swaro optics and may be able to do a swap out on your gift card. 210-533-5431. Ask for Johhny Dury or their office manager, Laura.

I just bought these from Camera Land. I've always wanted a nice pair of Swaro's but everytime I save a little money I seem to spend it on a hunting trip. I did a bunch of research last month and I bought these. Very, very clear glass just playing with them early and late here at home. I'll be field testing them next week on an Axis hunt. Good Luck with your choice.

I LOVE my Geovid HD 10x42 LRFs..
I tried a buddy's Swaro LRFs, awesome as well of course..

splitting hairs on the glass at that level (Zeiss included)

But man, I love having a range finder and bino in one package..

The thing I really, really like about the Leicas is there huge depth of field.. you can spend hours glassing and be bouncing in yardages and not needing to be constantly micro adjusting the focus.
I don't get any eye fatigue

Meopta HDs are great as well, same with Trijicions (made by Meopta) had both, great glass but they don't have that same depth of field.

For just glass and glass only, Swarovski is the gold standard and worth every dime. Also, I would caution the real world versatility of anything 15x unless you are using them on a tripod or a really good solid rest a majority of the time.

Regarding Geovids, the glass is Swaro-grade plus the addition of a badass rangefinder. I have a pair of 10x42, and they are absolutely amazing. Deals can be had for the 2200 HD-B for under $2k, but you are still paying a little extra $ for that "B" on the end, which is their ballistics program. And it isn't worth spending any extra money for in my opinion. The HD-R version is a little cheaper.... still the same amazing glass and range finding capability, just missing the clunky "ballistic" program.

Either way, if you've got $2k to spend you will ABSOLUTELY not regret investing in a pair of Leica range finding binoculars. With a strong nod to a 10X version for more versatility in more situations.

I have the Geovid 10X42 HD-Bs. I'd buy them again tomorrow if my pair got lost or stolen! Shop around. I've seen the 2200 model for $1499.99

I got mine from Doug years ago at an absolute steal for $1800. Knowing what I know now after using them so long, I'd pay the $2k+ full retail price in a hearbeat just to get my hands on a pair.
