I would suggest a 2-10x42 Steiner GS3 4a. German optics assembled in Colorado. perfect for hunting inside of 400 yards

Vortex viper pst gen2 3-15x44. The gen2 is leaps and bounds better than the gen1 in my opinion, and i have both.

Fixed 6x Leupold. I would have said K6 Jap made Weaver but I believe they are no more.

Under $500, Trijicon 3-9x40 AccuPower
This is where I'd be for less than $500, mostly because I have other accupoint/accupowers and i think the glass clarity is amazing at this price. Honestly, I think both looks better than our Zeiss HD5. However, $500-$1000 some of these new Bushnell Forge scopes seem like great options. Come in both second and first focal planes. I hear Bushnell is very good quality, although the last bushnell scope I bought was 10 years ago and it was fantastic. I abosultely love the 6x multiplier which gives a great range. If my 2.5-10x is a great hunting scope, then I can only imagine that 2.5-15 would be even more useful. Finally, i even like all the color options.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!
