I have been fishing all my life but for some reason I have never fished saltwater. Some day I will. Reds are about the only thing that peak my interest though.

JCB, I grew up fishing freshwater but once I finally tried saltwater, I got the bug in a major way. The cool part about the coast is you literally don't know what you might catch at any given time. Now granted, if I caught fish in freshwater the way you do, I might not bother with it either

I've fished saltwater all of my life offshore and inshore, to me fishing freshwater sounds like a lot of fun because I haven't done a whole lot of it. Something different I guess....I really want to go Striper fishing.

Lots of brackish water there, catch freshwater catfish and redfish in the same spots.

Ive fished over there a few times and always had fun. Never made it to the Venice area, will have to give it a whirl one of these days.

This thread is pure greatness. Thanks a bunch for posting. The thread is an example of what all threads should be like. I no longer have the energy. It was a great vicarious experience.
