Spent last week in New England and came across a few different critters along the way...

Pretty sure the moose is a yearling. This time of year, the cows are getting ready to give birth and send last years calf out on its own. The winter coat is light colored and as they loose it, the summer coat comes in dark, if I'm not mistaken. I found it interesting that "moose" is the indian term for "twig eater'"

Neat photos. Moose looks pretty ragged. I guess it shedding its winter coat.

Great pics, as ugly as they are, you just have to have pity on a moose.

The second moose we saw, we almost missed. It was only about 50 ft of the logging road we were on and it turned so the sunlight hit it just right. It slowly continued to eat and them walked off. Couldn't believe how something that big could disappear that fast....

This sign was the clue that led us into the backroads to look for moose...

Super cool. You probably know it when you hit a moose.

I came across one full grown (well I hope full grown) bull moose in northern NH. I was amazed and quite intimidated by its immense size.
