Haven't managed to make it yet, but on the list. Several friends have had wonderful hunts in Spain for Ibex, and I would like to follow in another friend's footsteps and hunt Chinese Water Deer, Muntjac, and Roe Deer on the UK. Would be a great vacation trip for the wife to London, who has had nice time in Ireland but never UK.

We have talked about his trip and it sounds like a great hunt.

Been thinking of taking a trip to Hungary, Austria , Czech Republic or possibly Germany for stag, fallow deer and boar.

Probably need to visit the Fatherland & motherland sooner or later to see where I came from

I've been thinking about Poland more and more. Our Associate Pastor is from there, in an area that is big into hunting, and she's said, economically, she'll need a place there when she retires to live for several months. She wouldn't be able to put us up, but she'd be an excellent tour guide. They make a bigger "ritual" out of the hunt and honoring the game than the English/Scots do.

I did Red Stag in Portugal when my ship pulled into Lisbon. Wasn't a planned trip, the opportunity just presented itself. I got an invite and they hooked me up with a 7x57 rifle. It was a driven hunt with dogs and we were taking cull stags and hinds, no trophy stags could be shot on the hunt. It was interesting and different and I enjoyed it. All meat and antlers stayed with the property owner except for the roasted meat we had for supper after the hunt. Europe has a pretty strict code of conduct and ethics/traditions in their hunts.

Closest I came was hunting in Finland for roe deer, elig (moose), whitetail and boar.
Whitetail and Roe was stand hunting, moose was all driven hunts.

Never been but it is absolutely on my bucket list. Been considering Germany, Scotland, and Sweden. Sure is pricey though.

Read a lot and many places sound interesting-certainly they are each unique. Spain really sounds attractive.

Honestly, I doubt Iíll ever hunt over there though because several other hunts rank ahead of Europe/Great Britain hunts on my personal list. We are planning 2-3 weeks of travel there though.

I don't know if I want to walk around in France with a gun. No telling how many folks that would try to surrender once they saw me.
