Lost lease and will need to move, any connections or contacts on who I could contact to help lower a blind onto a trailer in order to get it moved, the blind is just north of Strawn.

Considerations:

The blind is fiber glass on a 10ft platform

The area will need some trimming to get a truck into the area

I have a trailer that should be suitable to load it on

Primarily just need the labor

Needs to be off by June 1st

I moved one like your describing once... carefully laid it on the back of a SXS.... slowly drug it a few hundred yards to the trailer..... slid it up on the trailer.

Hope that makes sense.... the blind was on the back of the SXS.

We have a member that would probably help you that has a SMALL 4wd John Deere with a front end loader.

Who installed it? Talk to him. I would talk to the manufacturer too. That is tricky to move on a 10’ platform. How well is it connected to the stand? Can it be tilted as one piece?

Ask if the landowner will buy it... then get you one on and put on a trailer.


I keep tools, fishing gear (tank right next to me) and general storage under the blind, on the trailer.

To try and answer all questions, my self and a friend of mine assembled it and stood it up a few years ago. I think it can be tilted in one piece, as it is well connected to the stand. I'm thinking TEXASLEFTY is on the right track with a small tractor and front end loader. Very difficult to get a truck back in the area where the stand is located. I have a hunting ruck and trailer I can get in there but you probably would not want to take your daily driver to the location due to the cedars.

Without even seeing a pic of it, I will tell you that tilting it will damage it. You and your buddy need to go disassemble it and load it up. Just the blind. You can leave the tower as is. Once the blind is off it, you can probably tilt it on a trailer without damaging it.

Tie down the legs of one side to keep it from sliding. use a sxs to pull it over and a truck to keep if from falling. worked for this heavy steel monster- fiberglass should be a piece of cake.

Thanks guys, I think I have this worked out and will probably utilize the method ELKMTB if I can't get a tractor to lift and move to new location. I've got somewhat of a reprieve from the June 1st date fortunately, so I'm not so much in a panic.

We do it(a lot) like elkmtb. But we have started to use a tall heavy pole attached to the back truck(black in pic) to attach the rope to. Having the higher angle allows for less chance the legs kick out and also keeps the rope from bending the bottom brace on tower. You can also use what Wes at Westex Steel calls a raising bar which I guess is kinda what a gin pole is. All this works in reverse also. For safety of course don't get under it and always assume the worse case and have a get outa dodge exit plan if anywhere close to it. Kinda like treat every gun like its loaded.
