Popped one the other day with my .177 Diana 34. I was just itching to hunt but I haven't had time. I live on 2.5 acres so I tried spotlighting them out back, haha. I was using my headlamp, and could barely make out the silhouette.. Was trying to score a headshot an missed by a mile, hit it in the shoulder instead. But it worked. For rabbit and squirrel, etc. a good .177 air rifle is all you really need.

I've got the 22 cal Model 48 and it's taken Coons, Cotton Tails and Jack Rabbits out to 50 yards.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

That's a nice air rifle. As a kid we killed a lot of small game with a daisy powerline, one of the 30-40 dollar 10 pump plastic ones. I was always amazed at the accuracy we got out of them. Brother and I used to hang a piece of charcoal about the size of a dime on a piece of feed sack string from the bottom of our tree house. We would rest off the deck banister and shoot it and bottle caps. Didn't take us long to figure out we could shoot the string if we put in a few atempts.

We have loads of rabbits in our yard. I have been threatening to bust one for dinner but get the stink eye from the war department. When my little boy is of age and I get him a pellet gun... something will happen to a bunny or two and we will have some good dinner fixins. She cant get mad at him for it grin

Yes sir! I grew up on a Daisy 880. They are great little pellet guns.

That's a nice rifle. I've killed a lot of critters with a breakbarrel but this 34 has only gotten a rabbit and a squirrel so far. I had a chinese copy of the rws 350 magnum in .25 caliber that I have used to dispatch armadillos. Didn't even need to use a head shot, very powerful air rifle.

I have .22, break action Bnejamin with a decent scope. Squirrel population in the hood has been dropping.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I haven't taken any rabbits with my Daisy 880 but have taken about a dozen squirrels in the past few years.

The best addition to my air gun arsenal has been the Gamo Swarm with the 10 shot magazine.

https://www.gamousa.com/product.aspx?productID=603

I was extremely skeptical about how this would work, but from my personal experience, with a "sample of one" I can tell you that I've been absolutely delighted with its performance. It has never failed to feed the next pellet over several hundred that I've pumped through it so far. It is accurate enough to keep the indigenous squirrel and rabbit population well in check around my urban homestead. The capability of having a quick follow-up shot is quite important to this old man on those extremely rare occasions that I might miss on the first (or second; or third) shot!

I've had a couple benjamin breakbarrels. Stoeger as well, and a few other chinese guns and some cheaper Gamos. They are all great little rifles, especially the little gamo hornet, for the money.

I gotta get my hands on a Swarm. It looks like a lot of fun.

I had a Gamo Urban for a short time, that I returned for issues with feeding from the mag as well as the shroud clipping pellets. On different power settings, different pellets were clipping the baffles frown was a fun little rifle at forst though, I will probably get another someday soon, or maybe a different PCP.

The bullboss is gonna be something else. I hope you'll share your experiences with it on the forum.
