I've always wanted a semi-auto .22 WMR. Have my eye on one from Volquartsen. Anyone familiar with them? Pros and cons (other than price)?

buddy had one in a 22lr
like most tricked out .22's you shoot them a lot for a little while then the novelty wears off and they go in the safe never to see the light of day again.
His was very accurate but again, after the novelty wore off he never shot it.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Oh, I'll shoot it plenty riding around the ranch. Always some type of vermin that needs killing.

I have a 10/22 with Volquartsen barrel, stock, scope mount and internals. It shoots very well and is usually what I hunt with. Its also pretty so it stays in the case, I generally keep an AR or 22 with little more "character" in the front seat if I need a truck gun.

Excellent people and they make some really super firearms. You can buy one and be comfortable that it will shoot well and if you have a problem, Volks with fix it!

I have used their parts on 10/22 and they have been top notch. I wouldn’t hesitate on a full gun from them

Unless it's very recent, KIDD doesn't make a .22 WMR rifle, or parts. I've owned two Volquartsens, both .17s, both reliable and accurate. I own a Magnum Research in .22WMR with an upgraded trigger and stock, and it performs quite well, plus isn't too heavy to carry thru the woods; These days I prefer AR pattern guns, so this is my go-to in .22WMR (a bit heavy, but...): Ray-Vin BMR upper on a PSA lower (has also proven both accurate and reliable):

If I buy another semi auto .22 Mag it will be a Volquartsen. I have a .22 Mag CZ 512 I’m happy with after a trigger job by Larry Pockrus but Volquartsen takes the quality to a whole new level.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.

I suspect you're going to be very happy with it. How many firearm makers do you know that care so much about quality that they make parts for other guns to make them perform better?
A Volquartsen hammer and ejector made my Remington 597 a much better shooter.
