I never see them mentioned although I thought I saw 1-2 at the hunter's challenge. Is there a reason they don't get any love on here?

Steiner binos we had were heavy and not very good, not sure how new ones pan out but still look heavy to me. Once we went to Swaros we never looked back.

I have used Steiner binos for years and swear by them. Many models have individual eye focus and if you ever spend hours glassing in a day, you will appreciate why those are the best style. Their customer service is great- I sent back a 20 year old pair that had torn eye cups and scratched lenses and they fixed and had them back to me in about two weeks.

I had a T5xi (scr reticle) that I liked but I wanted to buy a Vortex Gen2 razor so I could have the christmas tree reticle. Ended up buying an AMG and love it.

I should have specified that I was mainly thinking scopes.

have a pair of steiner 10x42 predator binos and love them My dad has a pair of 12x50 predator binos that are pretty freaking awesome. I had a T5xi scope that was flat out awful for the price range. They were in the $2k range for MSRP new and running $1500+ street price when they first came out. You can get them for around $1100 now and folks occasionally pay $1500-ish new, and those prices are way inflated IMHO. Even though the turrets, reticle, and warranty service are great, the glass is just way out of line for the price. I had more CA in that scope than I had in all of my <$500 scopes combined. The resolution was just mediocre - right in line with my PST2. Parallax adjustment was finnicky and inconsistent. I just didn't like anything other than the reticle and turrets. I couldn't sell that thing fast enough.

Everyone still of the opinion to take Steiner binos over Razor 12x50s? I'm not gentle on my glass, so as much as I want some Swaros I know it wouldn't be a buy once cry once kind of deal

I have a pair of Steiner 12x40 Bono’s, 20 years old at least. Rubber on outside worn, glass still good. I’d be afraid to own anything nicer.

I'm not gentle on my glass, so as much as I want some Swaros I know it wouldn't be a buy once cry once kind of deal I think both are nice. If the Razors are like my Razor spotter, they're made in China, which kind of sucks. But I'm willing to bet the glass is an upgrade from most Steiner models. Same price range, I'd expect similar performance.

I have a pair of Steiner Predator 10x42 with individual eye focus that are probably 20 years old and are still crisp and clear as when I purchased them. They are the best binoculars I have ever have used. I have used them glassing in New Mexico for hours at a time with no eye strain. I really like the individual eye focus as you don't have to refocus every time you pick them up to glass. They are unbelievably great at dawn and dusk as well.

This individual eye focus everyone talks about, I thought all decent binoculars had it. At least the center focusing wheel for larger adjustments and focusing the left eye then an independent adjustment for the right eye. Once it’s set you should never have to touch it again. Just make adjustments on the center focus to compensate for distance.
None of these are facts it’s just how I use binoculars. Plus all my binoculars are in the $200-300 range so I wouldn’t know quality of it slapped me.

I have a T5xi on my 300win. I love it! Zero issues with the glass or tracking. Well worth the 1200 I paid for it. Though I do agree they were over priced when they first came out.
