Ok guys, I'm in the dfw area and I recently inherited some gator hides that have been bleached white and are ready to be dyed and made into boots. My question is, who in the area can dye the hydes and make them into boots? I know several boot makers but nobody wants to dye them. Can anyone recommend a good tannery or something? I'd love to have these made into a pair of cognacs.

I had American tanning and leather out on the east coast do my gator hide. They have specific processes for dying for intended uses. Make sure you have the cites tags and coresponding paperwork. I would go high end on the finish if you are going to have boots made. Custom boots are not cheep so why go bargain shopping for a finish job? You are already money ahead by getting the hides for free.

I'm not worried about going cheap but I definitely want them done right, but I definitely want a place in the DFW area, I'm trying to avoid driving to Houston or Mexico.
