Anyone use one? Have any luck? Long term? Opinions?

Just bought my twins a 03 Chevy blazer. Well their fist day with their lic, in their new car, they come home last night with a piece of 3/8” rebar in the gas tank.

Went and drained the tank and went to harbor freight bought the $15 plastic welder. 20 minutes later I have the hole sealed up. Gunna head to Cajun fest and when I get back I will add some gas and see if I fixed the hole.

We will see how good this worked. Might just order a new one and be done with it. Hate to worry about them out on the road and run out of gas. Or worse catch fire.

I used epoxy and sheet patches to patch mine. It was still holding when I sold it.

I am in the process of repairing a tank on 48 inch mower. I used a heat gun and the platic welder from HF. I had a 6 inch split caused by sun damage. I heated the area and tooled the split closed. Then, smothed with HF iron.
I pushed the a piece of the wire mesh into the patch for stength.

From what I have learned, fuel tanks are HDPE, recyle type 2. Milk jugs are recycle type 2. I will be adding milk carton plastic next.

But so far so good.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

I have used a self tapping screw and silicone when I had a plastic tank develop a small hole. As for plastic welding the kayak guys do it to repair roto molded kayaks, don't see why it would not work for a gas tank.

Sounds like you may have more to worry about than them just running out of gas.....but maybe the rebar was just bad luck on night one.

So far so good. It’s been a few months and have no prob.

Topwater- chualking it up to a bad luck night. No other prob s so far. Unless you count that time a tree branch fell and broke a window? Out of the blue. Heard a crash and went and looked and a big branch fell on top of their car.
