Use the easy button, have the dealer include / throw in loading the rear tires with non corrosive ballast or adding wheel weights as incentive to purchase.
I mean dang, you're in a place that has tractor dealers all over and tons nearby, almost throw a rock and hit one on every corner.
.. Most places are looking to make 15-20% markup on their tractors.. So there is some wiggle room to negotiate and look for the best deal. but go back to the other places and let them know what you are getting.. No such thing as free money so if you finance at the cash price you are going to pay a little more in interest. if you look for 0% most are gonna ask for money down, usually 10-20% Shop around.....John Deere will do package deals with a trailer and shredder, plus box blade. Other places will as well so see what you are getting and compare apples to apples.....
Spend time with the ones you love. Time is not guaranteed.

I guess our definitions of "worked" are slightly different. Well that is one hour per week over the last 20 yrs....

Looking for a smaller piece of land to build on in a few years, will be looking for a tractor then.
Im not looking at new ones, the emissions stuff all sucks.
We have a 2007 or 8 JD 5103 I think at the ranch 45 hp FEL, does everything we need it to do. We move 275-300 gallon water totes with it on the FEL.

It was bought for a specific job. It mowed a 55 acre plot in my subdivision. It ran every year for three seasons, mowing every three weeks. It took about 25 - 30 hours each time.
I may be way low on 4720 hours. We mowed ten times a year most years. That’s 300 hours a year. I’m seriously low on my hours guess.
I’ll see if I remember to look again this afternoon when I’m down back.

When I bought my Kubota, I looked at all major brands and did not find the price to be all that much different - maybe $6k from lowest to highest. On comparable tractors, JD was highest, Kyoti was lowest, but had more bells and whistles. Kubota was not far from JD in $$ and I purchased as a package to include 72" shredder, bucket, and box blade. It really came down to the dealer that was most interested in dealing with me (TexStar in Stephenville). I was surprised that several would not even return calls or negotiate.
Mine is an MX4800 and I filled rear tires adding about 900 lbs to rear. Loader is rated at 2200 lbs, but even with loaded tires, not sure I would ever try that much out front. I have never carried a round bale, but do not believe there would be a problem as long as I had some counterweight on back - like the bush hog.
Mahindra actually has pretty appealing lift capacity as the tractors are pretty heavy.

Just bought a JD 25hp compact, cheaper than a Kubota by a couple grand and 0% interest. I went to Kubota but the guy was too lazy to get out of his chair, I knew that was not the dealer I wanted to mess with in the future. Under 30HP there isn't any emissions garbage on them. Couldn't be happier, run it everyday for work and at home.

I guess our definitions of "worked" are slightly different. Really can't laugh as i have a 773G Bobcat bought new in 2001 that has a little over 600 hours on it. Anywho, left on the ranchito i sold a Kubota 5740 60 hp Hydro and it was a killer. Only have a 10 acre yard now and bought a 1533 Mahindra with FEL, 34.5 hp and it's a good heavy tractor compared to the JD's and Kubota's in the same hp and doesn't have the heavy emission stuff but deck kind of cramped compared to the larger Kubota. Heck bought a 8 foot 25A John Deere Flail Mower to try.. Pulls a 5 foot rotary mower with ease and a whole lot cheaper than the other 2. .

I have a 41 hp Kioti. Had it 15 years and only changed oil and fuel filters. I decided on it because it had rear hydraulics and a mid PTO that the JD in that class did not have. I haven't used the mid PTO but do use the rear hydraulics for my 3 pt log splitter. I also move round bales with it.

I own several tractors and my compact is a Kubota L2501 with loader, 4WD, and hydrostat transmission. Great little tractor. Wish it had a little more hp and could lift more, but its very nimble, fuel saving, and simple to work on. Also, no DEF needed.

I would base your selection off of dealer location and service.

So here is the thing. While Mahindra doesnt have a "filter" like all of the other brands, their setup isnt as simple as all the others. Mahindra changed components in their motors to make it work.. Crankcase, pistons, flywheel, crank shift and more... So if something with it goes wrong, there is more to it to fix... With New Holland's for example.. it is as simple as it gets... if something is wrong, you unplug the filter canister, take it out and replace it.. simple as that... as far as operation of the tractor goes.. there is nothing for the operator to do either.. put diesel in and go..

Could you please explain "the thing" a little more? They changed the pistons crank and rods doesn't offer much into how they are getting around emissions equipment. The precious new holland also still has pistons a crank and rods etc.

In all honestly, most here will be like chev, ford, dodge owners. We will say our brand is the best. However, I would say that, Horndale11," statement needs to be considered very carefully. "I would base your selection off of dealer location and service."

I appreciate all the replies. I'm leaning towards a New Holland Workmaster 40 or 35 right now since they seem to be the most willing to deal and have the best financing incentives plus I've got several local dealers. My local Kubota dealer won't get back to me, nor will JD.
Pretty sure the NH in this size is pretty much an LS, but there is not a good local LS dealer.
Biggest decision now is to go with what I know, which is shuttle, or with HST. My FIL's HST Kioti wasn't too bad...

Cochise, what area you are located?
as others have stated, we all have our personal favorites but a dealer (good or bad) will make or break you when you need parts or service. I have been very pleased with the numerous dealers I have around the Austin area on several different brands.
