Decided to do a blueberry cobbler on my Kamado Joe tonight. Brought it up to 400 degrees and used a 10” cast iron skillet. Smelled amazing letting it cool down before I give it a try.

Welp that was a fail. Awesome Smokey flavor to it but the bottom is burnt to a crisp. roflmao this was a piece from the edge so I’m not sure how the center is. Learning experience

I'd still scrape the middle out with some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream or both....

Like PMK said, when using a dutch oven and cooking on coals I put almost all of my heat on the lid otherwise you will burn the bottoms every time. For stuff like biscuits I put 4 charcoal brickets or similar sized coals under and lightly cover the lid.

It’ll still be great if you cook it in the oven.

I gave up on cobblers years ago and went to dump cakes. The fruit or pie filling goes on the bottom.

On this one I used a 10" skillet that I just picked up at academy to use primarily on the Kamado Joe. The recipe that I followed did it this way but his turned out much better roflmao

I will kick it down to 350 and try again, the middle is still good, atleast it was last night at 10 when I was hungry for a snack.

I think 400 degrees is too high, try baking it around 350, maybe less time???

Give this one a try Bill, even I can make it. Not sure why but no cinnamon in it but add 1/2 teaspoon to the dry mix when mixing it
